This is beautiful..
It would make a pretty awesome abstract too, if cropped.
Great work Scott.

This is a very unusual color for a rose, so it's visually interesting because of that. The detail of the veins on the lower petals is great. I find the blurring on the top of the petals to be distracting, though. It looks like you're going for a soft, romantic look or maybe a dreamy effect, but the extent to which you've done it is a little off-putting for me. Is it a tilt-shift effect or just a really shallow depth of field?
Besides that, I would try changing your composition to more of a rule-of-thirds view instead of bulls eyeing the subject directly in the middle of the photograph. Maybe taking the rose at a diagonal with the rose placed in a corner of the photograph instead of in the middle.
Still, it's a good shot of a beautiful flower.

Well I wasn't really posting for a critique but thank you none the less. Art is subjective after all. I was limited on the angle and light as it was at a public venue. I was also shooting with a Voigtlander 50mm fixed 1.4. That is where the softness comes into play and the shallow depth of field.

My bad, I suppose.
