Description
Loki spake:"Be silent, Heimdall!
in days long since
Was an evil fate for thee fixed;
With back held stiff
must thou ever stand,
As warder of heaven to watch."

Fantastic work! And I'm so glad you have Loki there, mocking Heimdall. (Must confess that I've always hated Heimdall, just because he's traditionally been Loki's enemy. *glares at the Gate Keeper*)

Not sure if you're making at reference to the actual Norse Lore or the Marvel Universe.

I was thinking of Norse lore (especially given that Loki and Heimdall were supposedly fated to kill each other), but it doesn't seem too different in the Marvel universe.

Ah! Just needed the clarity! Yea, I like how Marvel doesn't stray too far from the original lore.

Loki does seem FAR more sympathetic in the Marvel movies than in most of the Marvel comics, which is probably why I like the movies' version better. I fell hard for mythical Loki way back when I first discovered the Norse pantheon, and that's never changed, despite those who loudly proclaim him the 'Norse Satan.' Happily, there's some great fiction out there now with a number of sympathetic takes on Loki. Have you seen C. Gockel's "I Bring the Fire" series? Alydia Rackham's (seemingly stalled) series "Bauldr's Tears"? Alis Franklin's "Liesmith: Book 1 of the Wyrd"? N. Reis' "The Adventures of Loki: God of Mischief: Book 1: Prayer"? M.L. Larson's "Lay of Runes: Sky Treader"? (And there are others!)

Oh yea, totally. Loki in general is a really interesting guy to read about! I found out about Norse Mythology when I was younger and used to go on information binges. I stuck with Egyptian stuff and found out about Norse Lore through Fenrir. Pretty awesome stuff and no I haven't :0 I haven't had the time to really sit down and find some good books. I'll have to go look at those when I get the chance.
