I realized, though I have recently been told to do so, that I hadn't colored this one yet. So here you go! Her hair was kind of tough because those brighter colors can be tricky, so I went ahead and layered a couple different colors in there to break it up a bit. And her eyes came out just right.
You're getting this one real quick before I leave the house for errands (joy.), then I'll hopefully have another drawing done to post before the day is out.

I actually use a program called "Recolored" to color my drawings on the computer. It's meant for black and white photos, but it works just as well with completed pencils. For her hair, I used purple in the shadows to add depth...I think that's what brought out the blue so much.

I must say I like the coloured version a little more than the black and white version. I don't know why really. I think it's just because Botan is the kind of character that needs to be in colour. It adds to her life. ^_^

Oh, this is beautiful!! I LOVE her hair!! It really came out gorgeous the way you did it. And you're absolutely right -- her eyes are perfect. And I like the colors you chose for her kimono. It looks great against the grayish background, too. Her skin looks good, -- you always do an awesome job on that, -- but you surprised me a bit. I just thought you would have made it paler. *shrugs* Don't know why. But, oh my gosh -- that hair!! It just really catches the eye. I think it's one of the prettiest blues I've seen.

Yeah, I tried a paler skin tone too. I didn't really like how close to the gray background it was, and it took away from her.
I'm so happy the blue turned out as it did! I used a bit of purple in a couple spots for shading so that it wasn't just a wash.
I couldn't believe I hadn't done this one yet! And I still need to post the colored of "Play with Fire".

Aha! I knew we were on the same wavelength, -- I can definitely see how the paler skin might not work with the background. Like I said, you always choose just the right colors to work together perfectly. And I wondered what you had used to get that beautiful blue. Purple, huh? Neat!! New avi? Do you have that pic up somewhere? It's cute!

It took some considerable tweaking to get the blue and purple to mesh together without it being too obvious.
