Modern Female Dancer Spotlight Award nominated and Circle Award's Outstanding Performance dancer, Malgorzata Dzierzon (Gosia), performs in 'Awakenings', a theatrical rollercoaster of emotions, based upon true life stories and inspired by Dr Oliver Sacks' book of the same name. Her charactieristic pose depicts the joy of feeling alive again after many years in a coma and being able to move again. A gracefully passionate performance which is arousing, stirring and above all Emotional Awakening indeed...Original oil painting produced on stretched 91cm x 61cm canvas using a knife, mixing only on the canvas using a limited colour palette.

I can never get enough of how much movement is present in your paintings. That coupled with the fact that the anatomy is amazing really sets your work apart. I have seen too many works depicting dancers that really are not accurate in regards to dance, and by that I mean the poses depicted look forced and unnattural and in many cases downright incorrect according to classical form and technique. I'm really in awe of your ability of being able to capture so much emotion and beauty in dance. Very well done as always!
