What a scary, misty forest! It looks so unreal, just like it came out of an eerie fairytail.
With all those swirly spiral branches, and especially those who hold the lanterns, it reminds me very much of "Nightmare Before Christmas"^^
Even though the atmosphere in this piece is really creepy, the lantern's light adds a warm touch so that I'd almost feel comfortable - if I was standing right beneath the left one, and only this one ('cause the green light's a bit creepy, too ;D )
I like the little flowery thing in the lower left corner - it looks interesting; I'd really like to know what it was ^^

I guess the comparison with "Nighmare after Christmas" is inevitable because of the twisted shapes of the trees
Iยดm glad you like the atmosphere as the mix between creepy and comfortable was precisely the idea i have in mind when i started the piece. I would have liked to add more trees in the background but, working with oils is not as flexible as digital media, so i guess i should spend some extra time planning the composition for the next painting.
