Description
A personal illustration depicting a vintage tattooed circus lady. The piece is heavily inspired by early 20th century photographs of silent movie actresses and showgirls (Ziegfeld girls).I tried to make it look kind of like a vintage promo poster as well. An Art Nouveau style frame that's supposed to look as it was drawn on as part of the poster design rather than an actual frame. I tried to achieve that to make it look like it was drawn with a pencil and have it fade in the background instead of going all the way around.

Urgh, I'm so retarded... I sent a print-request and THEN I read the description! Sorry, ignore! Bought the print and have a delisious baroque wooden frame put aside for it

I love the mixing of themes with this piece. It's a bit of art deco, meets goth, meets 1920's flapper. I love it.

The main feature this month #The-Art-of-Smoking group. Every single part of the painting holds something new, whether it be a skull, or a lock, or a look in an eye, or a curve of a leaf... this is truly amazing work!

Really well-composed, striking piece. I think you suceeded in you aims for the frame and the influences. Both the composition and the lighting on her face allow that to attract immediate attention, and from there to look at the tattoos themselves. I like the variety in tha tattoo designs themselves, as well.

Carny art is cool. Great mix of elements and color. This would be crowd stopping outside a side show tent. One of the best in style and subject. Love your self portrait and the one of Edgar Allen Poe also.
