Description
This is one of the five pieces I created in an attempt to go some way to expressing what it's like to live with migraine and cluster headache.This image started life as a simple doodle which turned into something pretty self explanatory. I hope.
Thing is, when your head hurts -all- the time you're bound to get a little down. It's a tricky business clawing your way back up all the time.

I get my clusters on the left and migraines on the right. Although the migraines do like to party at the base of my skull from time to time! : )

That sounds awful.. Does anyone have any idea as to why you have these headaches, and why several kinds?

It's a faulty gene, passed along from my mum. The gene is under-active and results in a chemical imbalance within my brain. Although no one can explain why it causes such violent outbursts or what actually triggers it.
But hopefully it won't be too long now until someone works out how to switch it back on.
