The guard could be used as a sword breaker, I'd imagine. But I am curious as to where the blade comes from. It's longer than the handle. Oh well, if anyone has seen Smosh enough, they'd know how stupid things could be in movies, TV, books, and video games if they were actually realistic. Take this for instance, if the blade were correctly sized to slip into there realistically, there wouldn't be much there to fight with.
On another note, you might want to add a pommel for extra balance.

It's the decorative knob on the end of a sword handle, or hilt. It's used to increase the velocity of the sword by evening out the weight of it, making the hilt the center of gravity.
I think that's how it works. At least, that's what I use them for when I make swords.
