Description
Haida Killer Whale 9" Nov 2K10Haida is an Indian Nation of the Pacific Northwest, and their native art is incredible. I have always loved their depiction of Killer Whales and Eagles. This piece of art is a combination of 4 different pictures and I even curved it a bit more so it would fit into a circle. The other thing I did to set it apart is that I "flecked" it with white paint to break up all the black.

Looks exactly like a design I saw from the artist Joe Wilson. If you don't mind my asking, what other pictures did you use for reference? I'm looking into certain Haida designs right now...

Hi crceres,
I do like Joe Wilson's art and I have downloaded several of his pieces, just for reference. I like the overall look of certain pieces but I like to put in my own detail/designs. Most of my pieces are combinations of 5 different pictures plus my own spin. As far as other artists, I really don't know them, I just downloaded pictures I liked. I just did google images searches of either Haida Indian art or Pacific Northwest Indian art/motifs. I really love their style of art and it works well the way I do it. Don

Fortunately, I'm a sucker for Orcas, so... me love it.
