You are very welcome. As far as your journal goes, trust your instinct. At some point, you will need to develop the confidence of knowing what of your work is good and what is just ok. When you enter a contest, it will depend on who is judging it. Once you know that, pick your best that appeals to that group of judges. At dA, if you do a kitty picture, you will immediately have a bunch of faves. I post work that I like, some that I like even if it's not that good. I enjoy getting the feedback, but I'm not at a place in my life where I can focus on this, so it's a hobby, something I like. If someday I want to do this for a living, then my posts will change. For your competition, go with those that are best for those judges and your work that you believe in. I look forward to hearing the results!
