This shows the dark part of Harry that's there throughout the series (mostly from about the end of 4th book/beginning of the 5th book) that's so interesting about his character. There's an evil that keeps building inside of him as the series continues and threatens to come out quite frequently (and in some ways does.) Personally, I think it would've been more interesting if the main hero in the series was from Slytherin, the same house that Tom Riddle/Voldemort and most of the Death Eaters came from, he might've been able to get members of the house to fight against them. I think Harry denies a large part of himself when he refuses to enter Slytherin, he has quite a few traits of Gryffindor, he's brave and very loyal to his dearest friends Ron and Hermione but he's also has a lot of traits of Slytherin, especially as he gets older. Of course, it turns out that there's a part of Voldemort's soul attached to him and possibility becoming more active as the series continues, slowly taking him over until the question is how much of Harry is actually left by the end of series? On top of that Voldemort is constantly connecting with Harry and trying to take over his mind.
