A common Trochilian organism in the skies of Heliconia, Emque are descendants of ancient biomechanical bombing drones.

They are a very successful animal group, diversifying into various shapes and sizes that fill in most avian niches. They can be as small as a human hand, or as large as a human car, sometimes bigger. All species fly via organic jet propulsion. Three eyes are common, two for side observation and one for forward and below viewing.

Emque are nectarvores for the most part, using their proboscis to suck up energy rich fluid from Ancile nectar pools or from skybound Re-Fueler mega-organisms that many Emque have co-evolved with.

Emque carry biomechanical bombs on their undersides which payloads are varied based on species and hormonal influence. For example, some species that flock in the sky will deploy flare bombs when pursued by a predator in order to confuse it's vision.
Other species clear out nesting sites by dropping incendiary bombs to ensure a safe landing.

All Emque species are dispersal reproducers, meaning that during the reproductive season, their bombs are modified into seeders holding a payload of embryo-spores that are widely spread across fertile lands.
