It's quite some time since I made a pastel piece.

So when I read about the new profile badge when drawing a snow leopard I thought about doing it either with an ink wash or in pastel.

Finally I decided to do it with pastel pencils.

The paper is Clairefontaine Paint-On Gris with 250gsm.

A good allround multimedia paper.

The chalk grab good on it but you are quite limited layering the chalk, no more than 2 outmost 3 layers, which is the real difference to dedicated pastel paper like Pastelmat.

In this case it did not matter as I did not planned to make many layers.

It was really fun to draw it and I'm quite pleased with the outcome.
