(didn't show up in my watchers messages for some reason so reuploading...)AU Hitsugaya art trade for *kelinor , with his pet kitty. This picture was a bit hit and miss... I've worked on it much longer than anything else recently, but it was an exercise in composition, lighting, etc, so I guess that's expected.
My first time trying to draw this character... I hope it's at least acceptable.
All in PaintToolSAI... getting the hang of the watercolours.
Character is from Bleach anime/manga.

"...At least acceptable"...? Are you hallucinating!? This is awesome! Your one of the few artists I've seen that draw Tōshirō in their own way. I love how the setting is peaceful and not a battlefield. Plus, he is in normal clothing and not in his black kimono. I'm in love with this piece of art.

All the "peaceful setting normal clothing with cat" stuff was the idea of the person who asked for it really haha. I suppose the picture is all right but 2 years later I can see lots of ways it could be improved. Meh.

This is a wonderful picture of Captain!! The lighting is beautiful and gives the piece a calm and soothing look. The details in the folds of his clothing and the couch are also very nice. It's also extremely pleasing to me to see Tōshirō drawn in a different style.
I'm surprised Rangiku isn't poking her head out from behind the couch, ready to smother her Captain with her giant bosom. x3

Nice job aging him a bit! His face reminds me a lot of the way Hyorinmaru's face is drawn in the anime. Very cool!

It may have been a 'hit and miss' in your personal opinion, but people have their own style.
And, for me I know, this works out quite well. Things are in nice proportion, especially Toshiro's face.
The only thing that bugs me is the cats face, the perspective seems a tad bit off. But that's just the perspective and cats faces are hard to capture just right(dang they move so much).
Over all, the lighting has a balance between dark and light, it kind of melds in a gentle almost natural way. and the color palette is warm and inviting.

Yeah, I didn't manage to get a reference for the cat, since the cat living here is most definitely not cooperative. XDD

I like the soft maturity this piece has to it. Toshiro looks wonderfully comfortable there. And the kitty is such a nice touch. Beautiful use of lighting and colors. Great job!
