your work is so detailed...that is what makes it unique and interesting. so it is funy to hear you dismay about focal point. i think where you leave a lot of 'space' like the womans face makes the best focal point in the midst of all your details. i really am drawn back to it again and again. and with all the chaos...it IS a strong focal point to me...because it's like an island for my vision to land on then it goes and search for more details...

Since I've never had any professional art instruction I know that I lack in certain areas, composition being a big one. But to me this looks fine. Do you use symbols at all in your work?

i dont think you should be unhappy with it. its very random and thats what I think is the strong point of this piece.
however I would suggest you place your signature somewhere else part from that top area, that makes it seem cluttered, off to a side and you got yourself a winner!!:yay:

no worries, i think its got potential. maybe make those character blob things as a signiture drawing, and develop it a bit.
