Haha just for a laugh, I thought I'd do this, I miss drawing Niko and didn't want him to feel left out. This was originally just me messing around sketching, but I thought I may as well go ahead and polish it off. It's more cartoony than my usual work so that was fun for a change.Just in time for GTA V, I've only got to wait a day or so. I'm so pumped, can't wait!

Interesting story about that.I read in a games magazine special edition for GTA V that the Niko character was going to have bit part in it (like Johnny did) but the voice actor demanded more money than they offered him, so they gave him the flick and made his character mentioned in passing. The line "There was this Russian guy, but he went silent" spoken by Lester was a dig at that.

Such a bummer that it would be ruined by a greedy voice-actor. But what do I know, maybe he got shit pay.
Also if you help out Packie McReary so he can be part of your heists, he will talk about the big bank robbery from GTA IV and then also mentions Niko.

Actually, he got a shitty pay (for a voice actor like him). Seriously, during 2006 and 2007 the guy was paid $100,000 (no royalties) after doing multiple works, and even after doing gta 4, people still never heard of this guy (Michael Hollick). And what is even worse, the actors usually get a fraction of the game/movie sales, he didn't. So, when gta 5 was in production, the guy tried o negotiate for a better payment (so, you know, he could feed himself and his family), and he got rejected. Sad.

Sucks, Niko is probably one of my favorite characters from the GTA series. But I can understand him leaving if they were refusing to pay him enough.
