I'm absolutely loving the Witcher series on Netflix, I updated my fan art piece. I felt the old one was a bit dark, with the monster especially, to the point where you couldn't see the detail. I was trying to bring dimension and depth to it, but I realised I failed that. Still trying to learn these things haha.

Old af, but i saw this by chance. It's a whip spider. Despite the name, it's not actually a spider, but another different arachnid.

I compared the two versions side by side and found the old one indeed gave a better depht impression, while still retaining enough details.
Switching the monster to blueish tones in the new version also makes the whole piece flatter as everything is now in the same tones. It makes me feel like I'm watching from the outside, while the reddish, darker monster in the old one made me feel like I was inside the piece, by the monster's side.

been playing the witcher for the last couple of months, seems to be okay. started the netflix series the other day and this reminds me of the opening scene. good work. I love the likeness of Geralts face in this image.

I love it!! My personal opinion, I completely understand wanting to show off the detail of the monster but I would have made the monster, maybe about in between what you have now & your previously posted version as far as the tone/darkness level. I think with the hazed out foggy background, the monster being in the extreme foreground would be darker to frame Geralt better in contrast, and a deeper sense of depth, but still being able to see a good portion of the monster's detail. This is just my opinion & is no way criticizing or putting your art down. (As I respect your art & considered you a much more talented artist than myself) Hope no offense is taken.

Yeah i never played the game nor have i seen any ppl play it but the series is surprisingly really awesome

I know very little about The Witcher, never read any books or played the games for any real length of time, but I've been loving the show too. I like the lore of it all. This is a great piece that reminds me of how the show started.
