Description Been working on and off on this for a few days. My second time trying to use daz to construct my pose before jumping into rendering, makes the process way faster. So yeah, if you haven't tried it yet definitely check out daz3d.

I think this took about 5 or 6 hours. Might still do a bit more if I feel like it but I consider it "presentable"!

Hope you like it.

(By the way, this is indeed a Dragon Age tribute, "Pentaghast" are the dragonslayers of Navarra in dragon age lore)

Spectacular sense of motion and colour! Though you may want to make the woman's sword smaller; right now it looks waay too big to be able to carry properly.

Haha yeah I know it's way too big. I did that intentionally. But "intention" is no excuse. Initially it was a spear but that messed with the composition, then when it was a normal sized sword it was barely noticeable, plus how is a puny little longsword gonna hurt a big-ass dragon? I was thinking of those huge greatswords that japanese game developers love.

I kind of like the idea of an exaggerated greatsword because it brings out the strength of the character. The fact that this "warrioress" is strong enough to hold that might not be realistic but isn't it awesome?

Oh right! I always find huge Japanese swords kinda funny, mainly due to the fact that the character holding them some how haven't broken their arms. Still, really nice job on the textures and colours; it has a super cool painted effect.

Great picture! But I have one question. What are you doing with the "daz3d"-Programm. Did you create 3D-models of the woman (or dragon) as a guideline for the painting?

Daz3d is basically like a fancy barbie program lol, all of the models come with the program (and the program is free). The reason why it's so good is because of their female and male base body models, which have incredible rigging and muscle simulation, so whatever pose you put them in, their muscles won't have seams in them or look weird. It's very easy to learn, takes maybe 2 hours or so to get really familiar with everything (which is rediculous when you compare it to other 3d programs like zbrush or 3ds max which could take weeks to learn correctly). www.daz3d.com/home

Here is the render of what I did in daz before going in to photoshop, keep in mind it's very rudimentary and I also changed a lot during the painting: imgur.com/srxpbdO

And thanks!
