Just beautiful, roger. Love the pose, and the softness that the freckles add to her expression. Very sweet drawing

This is fantastic. I love the intimacy of the framing you captured the mood so well!

Thanks.

yes there can be little interruption between the drawing. partly a lack of references and partly lack of time due to various reasons. I hope for more time for the drawing but it can get a little intermittent sometimes. I made this drawing mostly because I wanted to do something, with the result that it will not be as good portrait as when you find that good reference that you can feel more for.

A good reference makes all the difference! Someone contacted me yesterday asking me to do a commission, a portrait of his friend. Then he sent me a photo that was so low resolution that his eye was like, five pixels. Then he proceeded to tell me that was the only photo he had. Really? You're going to spend hundreds of dollars on a portrait that's going to be a blurry mess that I'm ashamed to put my name on because you can't ask your friend for a better photo?

Of course I didn't say that to him, just politely explained that I could go ahead but he might not be happy with the result. I showed him a painting I did from a 1970s instamatic camera photo, and he quickly backpedaled and promised me a better photo!

Sorry to rant, but I have strong feelings about this subject!

Your drawing is excellent, and I would not have guessed you were not thrilled with the reference.

Yea, reference can be tricky
