It's good to have some kind of idol in this world. Despite one is taught to not have any. Sometimes when you are feeling down they can just lift your spirits again.
And normality is overrated, boring. It's the ambivalent character of a courageous person which should be desirable, appreciated and, in the first place, accepted.

I don't like the word idol. I don't have one at least. I can aprecciate some things of a person, but not to adore one, that's insane... we're all humans, we all go to the toilet, you know.
And totally agree.But I think that our society, our way of life, goes very fast to see the qualities of a person. So we only see what's easy to see, the standard.

I know the right word in German, but not in English. 'Idol' is too much, too extreme indeed. Maybe an 'inspiring example'? We are not teens anymore, I know. No worshipping.
It 'just' needs some change of thinking. At least they are getting more tolerant, slowly and bit by bit, but still. And even if they don't really understand, acception is already a step in the right direction.
