I had to work some magic on this, but it's OK.
Many Thanks
David

No, Henry - still here to tell the tale. This was up near St Lucia.
Cheers

Thanks! Β Shows the relationship on things created by Nature! Β Nearly identical. Β "Water, water, water everywhere"! Β The Energy that makes the waves fly in Durban, Umhlanga or St Lucia is the same. Β I reckon!!
Cheers!

Nice capture, David! Β I can't wait until the next time I'm on a "surf-tormented" shore! Β (Quote from Poe.)

This whole coast is just amazing, Brett, the geology, the marine life, the birds. And of course the surf. I'm sure Poe would have loved it!

Ah, geology--my second-favourite science!

The geology is amazing there - conglomerates from an early age with oyster shells in them, for example.

Did you gather any fossils?

Not there, but up on the Bergs we made an interesting discovery of tiny geodes - a couple/three mm in diameters, some of which had been broken to show typically dazzling innards. Careful searching found some vary rare pieces of quartz. Now where we were is predominantly sandstone country and these deposits were in the soil. Very odd - some long ago volcanic action spewing stuff far and wide.
BTW, I have a couple of photographs of those shells, but they are in sandstone bedrock, not conglomerate. Maybe I'll get around to posting them.
