Another piece from an RP.
Here are two excerpts.

Dante:
“Because I knew that my words would only break her heart which she had laid down on my hands. She loved me, she loved me more than any other. And it took so many years to realize, that if I had spoken about my feelings with her much earlier, I could have saved her from most of her pain. That is my greatest regret in life, I am not worthy of her forgiveness and knowing her she will most likely never even do that.”

He narrows his eyes.

“Either way, I am suffering from my actions like I would have suffered if I had married her instead of going to St Reverie.”
Once again he fell silent and closed his eyes.

Cadenza:
Kyrie inched forward. He took a few steps at a time. Sweat soaked from the line of his short, messy hair, beading on his skin in the noon light. A few inches more he walked. The hand on the hilt of a most unusual looking sword gripped the bindings so tightly the blade rattled in the sheath, and he slowly drew the length of dark steel from the scabbard tied to his thigh, taking more steps, until he finally faced Cadenza, the tip of his weapon millimeters from her.
There was a moment where everyone around them was silent, watching. Cadenza’s deep stare bore up at Kyrie’s. He looked like he wanted to shrink away. The attention of the villagers and Cadenza herself cowed him. Yet he kept his stance, that of a well-trained swordsman, impressive at his age.
“I…” Kyrie opened his mouth.

Cadenza spoke to him. “Kyrie Vertrage.” The very syllables from her mouth pushed him back two paces again.

“I will live.”
