Happy New Year 2019 everyone

First painting of the year! I gotta say it's been wayy too long since I did a finished painting....really enjoyed getting into this painting and playing around with different textures and doing the little details.

It's pretty frustrating really not being able to get any paintings done for months. BUT!! It is a new year and I'd like to be more regular with my personal projects. So yeah, one of my resolutions for this year is to paint more finished stuff and also experiment with different techniques and styles I enjoy, as it is something I've always been truly passionate about.

For this painting, I just really wanted to paint a forest and play with a darker colour scheme overall so that the bright blue of the wisp would shine through.
Working on this felt reminiscent of my older works where I'd experiment with lots of different brushes and just go kinda crazy with it...so that felt really nice since lately I haven't been doing that as much

Done in Photoshop CS6 with me intuos pro. Took around 4 hours.
