Description
A wolven representation of the alchemy of the Life/Death/Life cycle:Nigredo, the black wolf is the color of dark soil and stands for decomposition and maximum despair. While it's color may be the opposite of white, it is at this deepest point of decomposing that the mind is most ready for a renewal of life and energy. Nigredo is the color of descent and the world between worlds.
The red wolf is Rubedo and stands for vital passionate energy both positive and negative. It is the color of desire, sacrifice, rage, murder, being killed, and being born. Whoever has to leave this world or come into this world must pass through the red river.
Albedo is the lightest wolf and represents fresh ideas, purity, enlightenment, and new life though pale whiteness can also symbolize the colorless tint of the dead or the spirit. With either meaning, the color white is what is left after all impurities are washed away.
These are the three wolves of daybreak, rising light, and mysterious dark.
Based off of Clarissa Pinkola Estes's interpretation of the alchemical process of transformation in her psychology book, "Women Who Run With The Wolves."
---------------------------------------
Soyeah! This time is a long awaited collaboration with representing illustration of three symbolic wolves.
WildSpirit did her stylized lineart and poses and I did the coloring and background.
Coloring took me hell a lot of the time and was so stressful. Rubedo's fur is colored in dynamic way, showing emotions and anger. Albedo has soft and his illuminating fur is representing cleanliness. And the last, Nigredo's fur is drawn with heavy and dramatical tones to show the contrast of despair.
And the background was done by special paints and alcohols.
The original symbolic painting is up on the sale on auction! It's a great opportunity to get a rare original painting which we put a lot of effort from heart.
Starting price: 50$

- Paper: special old-styled paper.
- Coloring: colored pencils, special acrylic paints and alcohols.

I hope you'll enjoy! <3

This is certainly a surprise, I never suspected you would collab with WSW, but that must be really neat considering they inspired you to draw wolves right?
Actually when I first saw this before reading the comments I thought "wow thats weird, it looks like eden's colouring but the line arts more like WSW."
Another funny moment for me was when I read the collaberation journal and thought you were selling the oppritunity to work with you... Then I read it again and found out that I read it wrong. It made me a little sad to tell you the truth but oh well, the best way to get the things you want is to work hard for them, then the satisfaction is true.

I have to say, I realllyyy love how you used the alcohol to make like, a big sun/star shape in the middle...and I love how the colours of each character appears to 'leak' into that shape. Olawdit'ssopretty! <333
Great colour choices to represent the emotions, and the way you painted the fur is just so omgpretty and fluffy and soft and WOW. XD; <3
Your styles fit together so well! Great job to the both of you.

When I was blotching the middle, i had to use LOTS of alcohol than usually... my expression was all and amiring the view how my picture is going to destroy.

Does the alcohol make the picture go all crinkly like watercolours sometimes do? o:

Great idea and beautiful painting! Only thing I'd say is that maybe I'd distinguish the colors of the black and white wolf a little more. To me, they are very similar in color range and this causes the red to really stand out, instead of having it be three distinct colors (to follow with the idea of three distinct parts of life)

I like it beautiful. Kinda weird how i think most people are brought up believing that light is good and darkness is bad. It is through darkness that we know light, and through light that we know darkness.
Be careful, when illuminated by the brightest of lights, your shadow ever lengthens.
