LOVE the textures!!! and why save it for halloween? it would have gotten lost in the shuffle of all the other skeletal type things.

Looking really cool, Russ! A suggestion maybe?...Add a gradient to the lighter edge of the blade and wher the darker and lighter colors meet, try adding a small hotspot to add the little gleam. It might make it a bit more metal looking! Just a thought but this still looks very cool!

Thank you my friend ...... and thank you for the suggestion. I didnt like the way the blade looked myself so I took your advice. I also aged the scythe also. I may have over done it but let me know what you think.

It looks better! The aged effect I think looks great. I played with the shine a little and found if you add a 100mm Prime lens flare, scale it down so that it's not much bigger than your mouse cursor and place it near the right edge of you existing shine, it will add that small single bright spot in the glow effect and gives off a really cool glimmer without overdoing it!
It;s a nice finishing touch but not really neccessary, I was just curious to see how it looked, the image looks done to me!
I think my favorite thing about this image is the little chips you took out of the scythe, looks like it's been hitting things a lot!
