I don't think changing the outfit, skin color, and hair style really determines if you've improved on a piece or not
I'd say that the coloring was much crisper in the after, and it pops out more
They're both gorgeous, the little things you've done have really brought themselves out to make a nice piece.

I LOVE everything about the "After" work, the detail is amazing.. No. Inspirational. But I think I prefer the facial features of the "Before" one.

Both are beautiful pieces. Love the dress for the newer one though.

I personally think that both pictures are good. The difference between them is the sharper outlines, better lighting and shading on the newer one.
You wouldn't think that a change in clothing could make such a change in the character... hmm weird!!!

There is a lot of improvement overall however I believe the most improvement was made on the coloring. Lines are sharper and colors are more vibrant which I believe pulls out the amazing lineart more.
