As always, great work man. Particularly enjoying the colorwork (The olive greens in the skirt, saturated red and cool blue under the skirt, and the usage of pure white in the hair is particularity awesome on this one) Also the paint handling on this is really textured, seems like a varied mix of wet edges, pressure sensitive opacity brush, and a diffused edge brush, but I could be totally offbase. Either way I'm nerding out over brushes over here. Dude, Killerrrr!

Thanks for such kind words! Surprisingly, i only used 3 brushes for this one, and 80% of this is done with a soft round brush. I have a couple other brushes i made myself, but my philosophy is that simple tools allow me to express my thought process more clearly without the tool doing all of the work. Ahhhhh thanks so much!

Nice man, would not have guess the majority of this was done with a soft round brush, very cool. I've never been much for complex brushes either, but that's also because I think a lot of artists use digital brushsets in really gimmicky ways (like when a plant or bush is made up of one leaf shape that's copypasted over and over, it looks lazy and synthetic to me) Anyway, whatever you're doing, you're doing it right. Keep it up!

I agree! I can't argue that it produces results or that it's efficient, but it's hard for me to say that it's "clever" or "impressive". It's problems like leaves or bushes that you can really get insight into the artists' understanding of patterns, shapes, and handwriting.
Again, thanks for the kind words!

Well said! It's definitely a means to an end, but yeah, in terms of the artistic value itself I find it a bit lacking. A lot of that photobashing stuff I find lacks a lot of the charm and care that something painted by hand has. I understand why it exists though, when you have to pump out 3 finished concepts for some new triple A title by the end of your shift you don't exactly have time to render out grass and wrinkles by hand all day.
And no problem, it was well earned.
