As a pet or in your attic? I know they can be kinda bad in high numbers because of their feces. Individually they are amazing though.

Oh my god! what an absolutely heartbreaking thing to happen, such a beautiful little guy too, but, if there's one comforting thing you can look at, it's that you gave that little dude a much better quality of life than he would have had if you hadn't found him, and thank God YOU found him, cos anyone else could have, and it could have been a lot worse for him.
I'm sure, wherever the little guy is now, he remembers his "mum and dad", and I'm gonna stop typing now, cos I'm actually tearing up just writing it, how crazy is that? I feel like a right dork! Thank you though, cos as heartbreaking it is, it proves there are still caring people out there that do not listen to the demonic stories that people believe about bats as a whole. Bless You for that one act of kindness this little guy may never have known..

Thank you so much for your kind words. I can not imagine how anyone can just turn their back on an animal in need. I would never have thought I could love a bat like that. My life was altered and for the better by having had the opportunity to care for him. He was truly amazing and inspiring. I am glad to know he is still touching people. I posted the pictures so people could discover, just like I did that they are amazing and adorable animals.

Well first off, as you can tell from the photos he was absolutely adorable! Bats are very misunderstood creatures. They are very social, affectionate and clean. Like a cat he was always grooming himself. His little wings were so fascinating. If you ever get the chance to visit a bat rehabilitation center do it!

Well there are about 200 of them in the US. I currently live in Germany. You can usually look them up online though. There is a guy in a town close to us that is a incensed Bat Rehabilator.
