I am not sure if they can be installed in Inkscape. But you can use them.
1. Open any *.pat file by gimp and save as jpg or png.
2. Open/import jpg file in inkscape
3. Select image and use Objects > Pattern > Object to pattern (Alt-I)
4. Use Object > Fill and stroke to use the pattern in your drawings.
The pattern would not be a vector fill but would do your work most of the time.

Forget my message. It seems that the refreshing doesn't work, but when I closed and opened Gimp again, it loaded them

Why my Gimp says it doesn't have permission for the files? I opened the file and moved it to 'patterns' folder.
