Watercolor, 2016 (56x76cm). Midtown Manhattan, New York City, USA. This is my version of the Midtown skyline in New York moments after sunset.I just decided to start painting, without any planning or any pre-sketching at all and this is the result
I was close to give up several times, but decided to try to complete it. I wanted to capture the reflecting lights from the evening sky in the buildings but also the street life and lights (at the lower right). I finished yesterday evening! I hope you like it!

Oh so amazing, I love the tiny little people down in the corner, and all the lights and colors.
I guess because I can't figure structures just yet this is astounding more then anything to me. Impressive job ;}

Wow, I'm really happy you like it! I wanted to capture both the skyline and a busy street corner as a contrast to the "monumental" buildings. It warms me so much that you like this part! In my photo, it wasn't possible to see any street, so I had to paint it from my imagination... When it comes to understanding structures and perspectives, I believe that the only way to get better at it is practice and more practice And even if with that, I don't think that it's possible to fully master it! But that's how it is when you paint and it doesn't have to be perfect to be good!! Again, thanks a LOT! It's so nice to get thoughtful comments!! Have a great and inspiring weekend!
