You know, as much I love the Dragon Ball series (except GT who does not exist), I have to admit that the people involved in writing it had next to no idea how to treat their side characters or support characters If you will. I mean Piccolo's case would hold up in a court! After a while they really did not have any idea what to do with him, and anyone who saw the series knows exactly when this was.
On the other hand If somebody were to present Yamcha's case in a court....well let's just say a death sentence would be the only outcome!
