Though it had concerned her to find her dearest Ramses had vacated the blessed grounds of the North, it had nonetheless been a joy to have the pale god back in her company once more. That is until the male lifted his marred leg and told her last, of the reason why his beautiful, blue eyes had lost their sparkle.

Medea listens to the male, the one and perhaps only wolf in this world (aside from her sister Parthenia, that is) that she had deemed her equal, as he recounts the tale of how the western barbarians once again showed their true colors, all the while calling themselves the saviors of Almos. Bah! If Ramses wasn't so badly affected by his misfortunate encounter with them, she'd have laughed at the hypocrisy.

She had turned a few wolves to stone, and only temporarily at that, and she had been deemed a threat to public safety when a whole mountain of wolves was waging war against gods. Oh, well, with any luck, her powers would increase, and then Medea would do the mountain clan a favor and make them one with their stony home they all loved oh so much. Permanently. At last, their ugly faces would finally serve a purpose then. Wouldn't that be nice?

Perhaps it's that thought that gives her such a rush of excitement. The more Ramses' voice is filled with dread and the ghosts of his tales, the more Medea feels reinvigorated, revived and refreshed. Medea does not question it; she is, after all, perfection incarnate. Such vitality becomes her.
