Description
Dornoch Cathedral was built in 1224.
Saint Finbarr from Ireland converted the local Picts around 540 AD.
In 1722 or 1727, Janet Horne and her daughter were accused of witchcraft. The date, as well as the name are unsure, as women accused of witchcraft were generically called Janet Horne. The daughter escaped, but the mother was tried and burned. She unfortunately missed the witchcraft act of 1736 which basically stated that there is no such thing. She was the last person legally executed of witchcraft in the British Isles. A stone in a private garden marks the spot. I suppose it beats having a garden gnome?
