ugh. this has been done for a while... i need a better way to get these online...this one is about multiple personality disorder.
the text is hard to read, but on the left, it says "multiple sides of me (crossed out) us." and on the right it says "we were not meant to co-exist."
used: old paper, string, pencil, gouache, some old transparent paper, cardboard
i'll try to get better shots of this sometime...

I'm a little confused, who is the original, the one without taped eyes, or the separate paged one?
-Also, decide for yourself if there's ever been a true MPD/DID case... people don't exactly agree, not to say theprofessor is wrong or right... : D

it's just an illustration about the concept of it, whether it's a real disorder or not. and i guess it's up to you who the original is. maybe the subject doesn't even know.

I love this idea! The construction of it and composition are amazing. I love how his hand is reaching across the two torn pages to give him some kind of link to his other sides. Very well done!

My favourite drawing is that of him looking down, with his eyes closed or pointing downwards. It has such a defeated look, with a twinge of frustration.

funny thing is there isn't one TRUE case study on Idenity disorder (multiple personality) MP came around because of hollywood. The closest of true cases aren't really MP
Dissociative fugue - an amnesic state that involves unexpected departure frome one's customary surroundings, the assumption of a new idenity, and an inablitilty to recall or remember one's previous idenity
Depersonalization- Feleing of unreality or a loss of personal identity; ofteon expreienced as being someone other than oneself, or as watching oneself in a movie
also EXTREME swings Of Bi-polar and be looked on apon as MP..
and Schizophrenia which DOESN'T mean Spilt personality.. its accutally when the mind lapses and looses sense of reality...

yah I was upset to when I found out it was all hollywood bullshit, Sybil ring a bell. AND with people "PLEADING insanity" in court cases "It was my other personality who killed him" *cough* more BS.
And the stuff you do find about it from "Doctors" isn't real either. My AP teacher try finding these "Doctors" because one was sopose to have worked in this one hospital he was working at. Lies.
What people will do for a buck in their back pocket or how the hell I'm getting out of this mess.
It is sad to see it not real because it really is insteresting.

i guess i tried to explore a more obscure view of it. like you said, it's a lot like bipolar disorder... except with this i just made more sides to it than just depression and happiness... i mean, even if it is all "in our heads" (which i guess it would be anyway if it was real...) then maybe i'm exploring the fallacy of it rather than the existence of it? hmm. i don't know really. i should ask my psychology teacher about it...
