Description
Looking so hard for a signIt's been there all the time
Listening for a voice to call out
He is softly speaking
You are waiting for a shout
Where is the thunder?
The lightning?
The earthquake?
Is that what you need?
Is that what it will take?
Must the ground open up?
Must the earth shake?
For you to realize
The difference Christ can make
Is that what it will take?
Looking for a way
To show you He cares
Listening for the voice
That will speak with His love
To reach to the heart
What will it take?

This reminds me of that bit in... which book is it? With Elijah - a mighty wind came, but the LORD was not in the wind. And a couple of other things happen. And then a tiny whisper came, and the LORD was in the whisper. I love that part.

It's in I Kings, chapter 19. I love that whole passage. The way God speaks but also what He says. Elijah is throwing himself a pity party and tells God that he is the only one left on the Lord's side. But God is quick to remind him that He still has 7 thousand left in Israel that had not gone astray and worshiped Baal. I've felt like Elijah at times. It seems like everywhere I look I see people who have turned to a "new" gospel of sorts. A little bit of a mixture between God's way and the way of the world. A bow to Baal of sorts. Sometimes it feels so much like you are alone if you choose to take a stand for the truth. But then God says, I still have.... And you realize you're not alone. It may be a whisper, but it speaks volumes.

Yeah it's amazing isn't it? I love not only that but when you actually see it in the world around you... like when you're on the train and you see someone reading the Bible of a Christian publication. Or you meet a Christian and immediately you can relax because they are your brother or sister.

Yup, God always has a people. Where darkness abounds, grace doth much more abound. And as the world gets darker, the light of grace can only shine brighter. It's an awesome time we live in really.
