Curled up on a benchRain falling all around
Seemingly unaware
Who is there to care?
Would the bottle drown his sorrows one more day?
Would the rain someday fade away?
Would the silver lining begin to show?
Or would this his lot in life remain?
No friend
No home
No place to go
I stop to look
Then walk on by
How very sad
I think aloud
But what can I do?
And so I continue on my way
As if this were just another day
Though I can close my eyes
I cannot close my heart
There must be something I can do
Somehow I must let them know
There is a friend
There is a home
There is a place to go
