Description High atop a mountain, somewhere in Africa....

Nah, I'm just kidding. Actually this was taken in the Magnetic Hill zoo in New Brunswick. It's rare to be able to get a good zoo shot that shows no signs of having been taken in a zoo, so I have to revel in the moment when I can. I haven't yet had an opportunity to go on an african safari or explore the australian outback, so for now, this is as close as I get...

Funny, it reminds me of the Mountian Dew commercial. Weird...

Andhow, nice shot! The tree in the background kinda killed the africa thing, but it's still a neat shot. Especiall considering the lack of buildings. Nice Work!

Mountain Dew commercial? I musta missed that one....

As for the tree, It's probably from his natural habitat but I have no idea where that was. I can't even remember it's proper name to search it out. Oh well, somewhere I must still have that Zoo map that would give me the name....

It'a an old one, from '96, i think. YOu see a guy ramming heads with a bighorn sheep/ram over a mountian dew while some guy does a voiceover that spoofs all those nature shows quite well...

Funny, never saw that one, either before me time, or it didn't air in the U.S./Ohio. Wouldn't surprise me, considering most companies up there operate separately from their U.S. counterparts (Except that the U.S. owns 'em) Gosh, you've even got a better verson of panara up there... :envyous:

Panara's A Bakery/Cafe kinda place. They've got some killer sandwiches, nice coffee, good bagels, and the like. Very similer to "Williams Coffee Pub" (At least, I think that's the name, 'tis been awhile since I was in Canada), just with a bakery section. See [link]

Sounds funny. I'm kinda partial to the m& m's commercials myself. Especially the airplane one...

peanut: Is this a snack flight?
*door slams shut*
flight attendant: It is now...

Or the one where they're all sitting around eating m&m's and then someone points out that they are like cannibals eating their own kind. So they swap types of m&m's with each other. That cracked me up.

Thanks. He is kinda cute, but I don't think I would want to be chased by him....

That's true... those horns are a bit menacing aren't they?

I know exactly what you mean, when you can actually take a picture of an animal in a zoo, where it looks like you're not in a zoo.. That's why I was so impressed with my giraffe picture. That's a great shot, looks like he's posing for you

Nice. The uneven lighting below, on the rock tipped me off to the fact that something might be a bit awry

Really, though, I like the 2 tone border, it works well on this picture. I find it interesting how you placed him in the center of the frame, it gives him a sense of solidness, like he could truly be a watchman.

Thanks! Although, to be entirely honest, the real reason he got placed in the center of the frame was becasue that was the only way I could get a clean shot without any buildings, fences, hordes of people, etc.
