You are just taking a walk on the beach, what a lovely sunny day. And then you hear a soft sing-song voice. "Hey~ Hey~~ Want something nice~?"

Whimsical, air-headed, and unpredictable. That is the infamous Gold Magician who is said to emerge out of nowhere and offer you gift items for no particular reason other than 'they felt like it'. They are someone who can only be encountered and not sought. They are often quite childish, though they never have ill intent. Most merphin might avoid coming to the surface, but Magician pretty much only lives on the surface, they love everything new and unusual.

A gift shop (not) npc! Also hardly a shopkeeper type;;;; their inspiration came from jesters and pierrots. Also I thought it'd be cute if a merphin was the one giving gifts
