Sand would behave pretty much like water, right?
Only that it might sting more. And it doesn't get outta your pants if you stay in the sun for a few minutes.

Not really. when you hit sand really hard its like hitting a wall. sand closes up all the air it has when something collides, becomes solid.
water dose hurt when you hit it but you have to hit it from a great hight.
