Here we go again..... Many thanks to and for sharing details about this challengeΒ www.deviantart.com/brennennn/jβ¦ , Smaugust is dragon month on Deviantart, I'm not sure whether I'll manage to draw a dragon every single day as I've only just finished World Watercolour Monht, but last night I sat with my Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils, my Uni-pin black fineliners, my Faber Castell coloured Pitt brush nib pens and some Crayola metallic gel pens and let my imagination run riot. I'm not sure if my dragons will all be this cartoon type style, I just know I enjoyed playing and I hope you enjoy the results, drawn on Seawhite 200gsm multimedia A5 paper which I've split into three, so this is a third of that, maybe 3 inches X 8 inches? I used the flash when taking the photo to bring out his true sparkliness! πRelated content

Watercolors are hard for me.
I am still trying to learn how to use them.
I really respect other artists that do work with them.

Thankfully they are the first painting material I used, it's an alien concept to put down the lightest colour first then put darker on top, and it only takes a touch too much water to lose a painting completely, but when they work well I find the natural colour blending very satisfying. Keep going, practice makes perfect! π
