It's been awhile since I've gotten pictures of my squirrel buddies. But today the weather has been nice . . . the sun is out and I had just thrown some peanuts out for my buddy, Goober. I'm trying out my new lens. I was standing at my front door and he's on the fence post along the side of the yard. I'm not too good at judging distance, but I'm pretty pleased with my new lens . . . 70-300 mm.Cropped, adjusted levels, sharpened, and a slight vignette added.

Thanks!!! He's a fun little squirrel. He knows the name Goober and if I see him out the kitchen window and call his name, he'll run around to the front door, because that's where I throw the peanus out for him.

Oo, nice! I was gonna say... I didn't think you could get that depth of field with the original lens you had. This looks great! Love the tones in the background... they really work well with the squirrel's fur colors.

You're very welcome. And yeah.. better weather would be nice. It rained pretty hard last night... but turned into snow this morning. I was afraid we'd have a layer of ice on the ground, but there were only a couple of little patches. It was really cold though, and windy too... which made it feel even colder.

We went to Derrick's last night to see their new puppy and it was raining when we left. This morning I got up about 8:15 and it was so windy and blowing snow that snow was covering alot of the windows. I was sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee and for a few minutes it was blowing snow so bad that I couldn't see the house next door. We're having really bad weather today. The OPP have closed all the primary and secondary roads in Grey and Bruce County. If that doesn't change by this evening, Randy won't be going to work tonight!!! And that means that the guys that are in on day shift won't get to go home tonight!!! I guess we were due, though. The rain was beginning to wash the snow away!!!

That sucks for the folks at work if they get stranded. But, at least they'll be safe. The snow's pretty much all melted away here... just a light dusting on the ground, but it might just be back soon. I just hope it doesn't get too much colder or windier. Not fun to walk in.

The rain yesterday and the night before had melted most of the snow around here, but it's back again with a vengeance!!! Yeah, when the wind picks up, it just makes it seem that much colder and I can imagine walking in it is no fun!!!
