Manumission : release from slavery; set free.the wings represent freedom, and the idea is how we will struggle and go through pain and difficulty for the sake of freedom.

a splendid collaborative photoshoot between me & my friend tarita. i wanted to do this idea for fun & for a spiffy portfolio piece, and tarita benefited from the shoot because she can include the photos for her make-up portfolio.
lastly, our model benefited from it by getting to have cool profile pictures for his facebook hahaha. everybody wins!
** PS: the tattoo says "if it's life that divides us, then it's death that unites us."
doesn't really have anything to do with the concept, but I like the meaning of the tattoo and didn't find it too distracting, either.

really great make-up/effects, also, a very cool concept (especially since i had to read a book for a class that mentioned manumission a lot, so it's interesting to see it in a different way)

Yeah, I was very lucky that Rick happened to be in town because I actually wanted him as a model when I came up with the idea, but didn't know he was going to be visiting Jakarta so soon. Great timing!
