This is part of Capturing Change, a collaboration project with three other photographers -- OliviaMichalski , darkdex52 and MARX77 -- to document changes in the cities around us. Working with them was a highly positive experience. Everyone dropped in a lot of ideas and together we refined the concept, which had the working title Metropolis.

The street wiring in Brazil is absolutely chaotic. It's like a museum, displaying all ages of the electric history. I like it.
I went looking for a good shot that could represent that and found this great view of the city with the cables pointing towards it.
It's just great cable management

THE SHOOT
I had been scouting for good vantage points in the city and as I was driving down this neighborhood, I stumbled upon this composition. The man on the right was coming up the street and I had little time. So, I took out the camera and shot in aperture priority mode with wide auto-focus set. Took a couple of shots but this one, the first one, was spot on. I didn't even get out of the car, just picked up the camera from the back seat, switched it on and immediately took the shot. That was it.

Wow, interesting combination and/or contrast in this shot. It seems there are two "worlds" there.

If "Capturing Change" is the theme, then you have got it! The white concrete of the high-rise buildings seems to be creeping like a glacier toward the older parts of the city. There is a very real sense of time in the image. Thanks.

Nice shot !
But isn't so much wires at the same place a bit dangerous ?

Heard Brazil had an economy crashing down but right now what I'm looking at it still looks find like they just don't mind at all.
