For this competition elite-dragon-artists.deviantar…This is Maelin! She's an arctic (or winter) dragon. She has large feet designed for walking on snow and ice and has thick, soft fur. She enjoys watching the snow fall and anything pretty and sparkly.
She stands at 5 and a half inches to the shoulder and is 21 inches long. Each foot and her head has been hand sculpted out of clay and painted. Her horns and claws are a pale metallic blue which match her icy blue eyes. She wears a bracelet on her front left leg and a decoration on her right back horn. Maelin has wire inside so she is posable and has been handsewn.

hehe thankies. Her fur is actually so soft it was difficult to sew, the leopard print stuff any way. the backing on it was also quite silky and it kept sliding through my fingers XD,

i quite like using scrap furs, dunno why lol. i'd like more animal print furs, but its hard to find a decent one that i can afford.

^^ I just opened up my scrap pack, I'm so happy there is so many nice pieces of faux furs that I love the look and feel of, and a few that are just funky XD like a bright orange one and a pink one that is dark pink and light pink, ooohh and these super super soft rosette fur that is just gorgeous to touch! I don't know what to make with any of them yet XD but its going to be FUN
Now I wish there were more people selling scrap packs on ebay ;.; its just exciting to see what you get XD

wow! sounds like you got a good one! oh that pink fur is amazing! my sister gave me some like that but i havent got enough to make a doll out of it, which is a huge shame coz i love it so much. i know how you feel on that count, getting scrap can be hard, even more so when its good fur.

Its awesome its coconut ice and I also got a good size piece of cherry bomb which is gorgeous as well! I recieved 14 pieces of fabric in total all different colours, so it should be fun to use
Yeah my piece of coconut ice is pretty small XD but I'm thinking maybe if I couple it with the cherry bomb, then I could use the coconut ice as feet fluffs or something like that on a cute little doll of some description XD Oooo I might sketch up idea's maybe

I even found a tan colour that could be perfect for what I need XD but I dont know about the postage prices ect for myself

oooh that sounds like a great idea! thats the only problem with scrap, sometimes theres a piece thats too small but you either can't afford it or can't buy it elsewhere.

^^ I think its important to let the fabric inspire you a little then and try and just see what mixes well
I have a rough idea what I want to make with mine now, and if anything it shall end up being a gift for my mum, it might be wonky but I'm sure she'll love it lol

I found a fantastic fur supplier on etsy but sadly they are in America, again its the postage charges that hold me back, but so many fabrics I love

yeah, delivery charges often put me off too. i've found alot of places like that, but the delivery is often alot more than the fabric itself.
