Description Monkey see monkey do.

I have been taking online classes at Schoolism to better my way of dealing with compositions, light, shadows and forms and this is the first lesson.
It was about taking three images from your favorite artist, games, movies, you name it and copy it in multiply steps.
By doing it this way you'll learn the values and shapes of the image you like.

These was suppose to be done preferable in 30 min but within one hour was okey. I can say that the first two were a little more then one hour XD

The first image is from my favorite digital artist, Simon Stålenhag.
The second one is a in game movie clip from The legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild
And the last one is a concept image from the movie Princess Mononoke.

Thank you!! I love it! And you get A LOT for just that price. Its really refreshing to make some school projects like this and if you are looking for a sky rocketing in your art schoolism is something to really consider doing
I enjoy it very much and the variety in the lessons you get! I feel like I develop for each time at least ^^

Awesome! I've been very curious to know how their classes are - this really helps. I've been taking some community college classes but realizing that I'm more and more interested in illustration and possibly animation, and my college is very limited in that department. Aaaand, I've already been through college before, so this is really just my time to learn for fun and to expand my skills!

Have you been doing the classes where you can get critique/submit assignments to an actual teacher? Or have you been doing the other classes that are more self-paced?

That's great! If you're ready I think you should go for it! Its never wrong expanding your skills ^^

I have only done on class as so far and that's the are self-paced since 1) all the classes I want to join are a little too expensive AND always full and 2) I'm slow and I don't want to have the crash course. Even tho I would absolutely love the feedback but its not necessary for me

That's encouraging, because I can't afford those classes either! I will definitely look into it more after this semester.

They look great! You really captured the overall look and feel of each of the images. I like your choice of images too
The only thing I spot that could be improved is in the last one, the sense of the golden-ness of the light is lost a little bit, which I think makes yours look a bit more gloomy than the original. In the grass in the foreground and the tree(?) in the background, there's quite a lot of yellow where the light is hitting. But that's nitpicking really, they are pretty spot on. I so look forward to seeing your take on some of the later exercises!
