You're entirely welcome.
I don't know anybody whose premium membership ended and can't afford to renew it. Do you know someone?

Are you still singing these songs? I'm glad if they brought you some joy.
You have lovely pictures of Italy, but your profile says you live in Dubai. Are there not some interesting things to photograph in Dubai, too?
I appreciate that you added my picture of Carnivale di Venezia to your favorites. Thank you.

I love singing Italian songs. My wife teaches Italian language in college classes and to private students. I come to class occasionally as a guest and I teach the class to sing an Italian song. Eh Cumpare is always fun. I have also taught the song "Volare." Have you heard it? I love singing it. Dean Martin has a famous English version, but the original song is more fun because it's in Italian. I know that your enthusiasm for Italian songs may have run out and I respect that, but if it hasn't, try this link and you can learn sing to Volare [link] Once you're on the page scroll down to play the audio file or download it. Volare is a very uplifting song since it's all about flying. I hope it brings you joy, too.

Yes, I agree Volare has a different feeling. It's really a love song. The introduction explains that the song is about an unusual dream where the singer went high in the sky and painted his face and hands blue--very fanciful.
The website that the link I gave you before takes you to has pretty good online lessons in Italian. The songs are just my favorite part. You might consider using it for learning Italian (with Jane and Massimo).

I listened to a couple of songs by Luigi Tenco and I like his singing, too. The songs were slow enough that I could understand a little of what he was singing about. How did you discover him? On a trip to Italy? He died really young, too bad. Which of his songs do you like the best?

I figured that you might like his songs.... while browsing through old Italian songs in youtube.... I know such a shame... may he rest in peace... he had such a unique sad voice right? very touchy... I like a lot of his songs such as: Vedrai Vedrai, Se Potessi Amore Mio, Mi Sono Innamorato Di Te, Ho capito che ti amo, Amore amore mio, Com'è difficile, il tempo passò, Io sì, La ballata della moda, Come le altre, Guarda se io, Lontano Lontano, Quando, Se stasera sono qui, Un Giorno Dopo L'Altro, Più mi innamoro di te e meno tu mi ami, Quello che conta Dal film La cuccagna...... I think most of his songs.....

Meemo, I need to renew my DA membership and I have an opportunity to give someone else a premium membership, too, at no extra cost. I would like to give a membership to you if you would like it. You get more features and donβt see ads all the time. Would you like it? Gianni

Wow Gianni that's really kind of you my friend... I really appreciate it, but I think that so many other people may want it more than I do.. the one's that their premium membership ended and they can't afford to renew it...I think it's better to give it to those people.... really thank you very much for your sweet gesture

Hi Meemo,
How are you? Do you attend college in Dubai? In my little part of California we have had a week of beautiful, sunny weather. It's a little chilly, but sooo nice to sit with the sun shining on your face.
Ciao,
Gianni

I'm glad you are well. I went for a very short swim in very cold water with my daughter on Saturday. We both survived; it was fun. What do you study in college? Thanks for faving my night pic of Mantova.

Applied Communications sounds interesting, but I don't really know what it is. I can think of print, broadcast, internet ... Can you help me understand better?

MEEMO-88 In reply to Gianni36 [2011-01-26 21:05:02 +0000 UTC]
YES...
Applied Communication is Media... but everything in media and more we study: Journalism, Graphic Design, Media production, PR, Marketing, Global Media Trends, Business Practises, and International Studies... I think I mentioned everything some of them we just study for like a semester and then the course changes but I studied all of these...

Gianni36 In reply to MEEMO-88 [2011-01-27 00:44:44 +0000 UTC]
Do you plan to use your Applied Communication degree as a basis for a career?
I studied mechanical engineering: statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, vibrations,... I retired from my engineering career a little over a year ago. Now I teach physics at the high school in our village. I have the honor of serving some great teenage students as their teacher.

yes, I think so... I think I have the advantage to work in so many places because I've been trained to do so many things and now I'm flexible to work in any department.. I think it gives me an opportunity to choose from so many different things..
Well that sounds really interesting and hard in the same time, but great though..
