I will admit that I found you through the daily deviation, however, your whole gallery is rather intriguing. You have a lot of nice pieces here.

i really love this shot .. i wish i can practise like u in a studio
i think if u wanna add more depth to it .. change the colors of the background ..
so it adds more contrast between it and the glass .. this is my advice from my little experince

Cool glass. I like how the red cherry contrasts with the shades of gray. Makes me thirsty, though .

This is an excellent picture. Love the overall "dullness" to the picture(don't know if that's the appropriate word for it) and how the cherry sorta stands out. Love how you captured the movement of the water not only inside the glass but outside the glass as well. Great job on framing as well, bent glass looks pretty weird too.

I love this photo. I dunno I see it in 3d, not 2d like the above said. I think the black/wh vs the cherry is really neat. I love the contrast and the angle of the glass.

I really like this. The angle of the shot, how the black fades into the white background. Such a creative and artistic photo.

My only problem with this picture is that it seems flat somehow...can you tell me what lighting you used for it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxpower In reply to MoroseInsomniac [2005-01-11 02:23:48 +0000 UTC]

flat?? i dont know... i hear flat and think low contrast...

i lit this with two strobes reflected from behind the glass, which is in theory the only way to photograph glass without getting specular highlights (which i did get some, but this is just practice..)

MoroseInsomniac In reply to maxpower [2005-01-11 02:30:53 +0000 UTC]

Well, to me it seems to have no depth; it's very 2D. The only problem is that I'm at a loss as to how to get the glass to have some depth. Perhaps by moving the camera upwards and tilting down a bit? I'm not sure.

i can see why it looks 2d to you, and i think it looks that way because of the high contrast. the shadows cut off rather sharply as opposed to fading into the light parts. BUT i find that what makes this picture so cool looking. espcially with the black and white, then the red cherry. i think its marvelous
