Description
Of course, no jail can operate without a dedicated team of guards to help keep things in order. The design doodles you see here are just a few of the hard-working canines who assist Warden Dobermann [link] in the running of Moreau Prison; they are, from left to right, Doug the bulldog, Seth the old English sheepdog, Karl the German shepherd and Bernie (but of course) the St Bernard. These chaps are really just background extras, but as is traditional (for me) I grew quite attached to them in the drawing process, so there's a reasonable chance they'll all end up with semi-major roles in a future story. It's just as well I don't direct movies, really. Everything would end up with a cast list too long to fit in the end credits.

Heh, I read The Island of Dr Moreau on my DS the other night. These chaps seem a lot happier than those inmates.

Hmmm... I have a story revolving with prison guards and a grade A thief (but I don't peg them all to be dogs...). Looking at your characters... it seems as if I can see some of my characters in 'em too. I would wait for your story and backgrounds so that I would see if I need to change some on my part or let them be (if there are small similarities.)
Awesome job as always sir Matt. I really like your style ^^ very eye catching! Hope to see the story soon. And LOL... Doug is too short to be a guard... or does he have some special ability that made him a guard? *grins*

Doug may be short, but he's got a formidable set of teeth that more than qualifies him for the role of guard dog, as many an unfortunate postman can attest. There's a reason why nobody ever makes jokes about his height.
Your story sounds interesting, and I'd be inclined to proceed with it rather than waiting to see these chaps appear in print. It's likely to be a little while yet.

Ahh... the BITE factor XD Some dogs settle for just the BARK *grins*. So... your story got some humans mixed with it or was it just a figure of speech? *smiles* Either way, can't wait for this to come out.
Thanks ^^ appreciate that. Though, since you put your characters in display first... it would be rude for me to post mine that would resemble that of yours. *smiles and gives you a friendly hug*

Hurrah for more excellent character designing! Making background characters look different and noticeably unique is no easy task, that's one thing I really admire about your work, sir!
Seth and Bernie have to be my favorites here, there the classic experienced guards that share there wisdom with the younger whippersnappers, that, or just throw witty remarks and be grumpy about everything.

Well, most of the villainous animals they encounter have already been arrested, but they could probably help to apprehend a baddie if the need arose. Seth could certainly deal with anyone trying to rustle sheep, for instance.
