Description Three flowers from a buttonbush. They always look like small exploding stars to me.

You've done a nice job finding some unique flowers. Most amateur photographers take tons of photos of flowers, but yours at least are interesting to look at. Flowers are usually pretty boring, but they're great for practicing techniques on and learning to use a camera.

The Depth of Field is great here, and the composition is well done. You've used the Rule of Thirds well.

A good way to get away from clichΓ© subject matter that I've seen is to try a photography 'challenge.' Typically this is a list of themes which you must fulfil. For example, a list of objects- you go photograph each one and try to make them interesting. They can be emotions or colours or even just techniques to master.

By the time you've gone through the list you'll have some practice, some nice photos for your gallery and the varied experience you may not have achieved on your own. It's a nice way to think outside the box.

Regardless of the method you choose you should keep taking photos. You have a natural talent and a good eye for composition and colour.

Thanks! I really like this one, and the strange flower in it.
