Old oaks have a tendency to become hollow, I've seen quite a few. But I have no idea what's causing it.

I have this feeling of wanting to climb in there. Since I was a child I've felt that there is something very inviting about the inside of a tree.

Oh, I agree! That reminds me of the movie Pan's Labyrinth, actually, in which the protagonist, a young girl, crawls into a tree and... takes a pearl from a magical toad inside, if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I last saw it. Hehe.

Yes, that's a very good movie, I remember appreciating Pan's labyrinth very much!
